Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk (optional)
- 2 tsp loose black tea or 2 tea bags
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2-3 green cardamom pods, crushed
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 2-3 cloves
- 1-2 black peppercorns
- Sugar or honey to taste
Preparation
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the grated ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and black peppercorns. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tea leaves and boil for another 2 minutes.
- Add milk (if using) and sweeten to taste.
- Strain into cups and serve hot.
